Ellen Petroski

Ellen Petroski has worked in healthcare with the older adult population for over 45 years. She has her Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania along with her NJ licenses in Social Work and Nursing Home Administration. Until her retirement in August she was responsible for running Morris Hall in Lawrenceville. There she was instrumental in developing and opening Grace Garden Memory Care in Morris Hall’s Assisted Living and Morris Hall Meadows, a unique small – home model long term care community. She spent her last 6 months at Morris Hall organizing around the pandemic and developing policies and practices to cope with the massive changes in the industry. She has worked both in hospital settings as a social worker and in long term care settings, first as a social worker and then as an administrator. She worked for Capital Health Regional Medical Center and Presbyterian Homes (now Springpoint), as a social worker.  After getting her administrator’s license she worked for Genesis Healthcare and several other nursing home providers in the area. Developing effective care models for older adults with both physical and cognitive needs has been her main interest and her professional focus.

Ellen has both run and designed educational trainings on numerous topics including Dementia care, Covid19 and  the Green House Project. She has designed and opened several memory care units, both in a nursing home setting and in an assisted living environment. Developing effective dementia care and resources has been a specific interest for her. As a social worker she has run support groups and has developed resources for community support services. For a lifelong client advocate, working as a case manager with Aging Advisors has been a logical next step in her long career.
