Before founding Aging Advisors, Mary Kay worked in medical-surgical and emergency nursing for many years. More recently, she was Clinical Coordinator for Atlantic Homecare and Hospice Departments in Essex County, NJ, then Wellness Nurse and Assisted Living Manager at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Florham Park, NJ, where she received the J.W. Mary Kay is a past Executive Board member and a Certified Fellow of the Aging Life Care Association (formerly National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers). She is also a past President of the New Jersey Chapter. She was co-chair of the National Conference in 2013.
Roberta is a Guardian, has a focus on disabilities in all age clients, and uses Music Therapy to engage the most critically affected clients with neurological impairments.
Susan has also been a volunteer EMT and Officer of the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad for 7 years. These skills make her an exemplary asset to Aging Advisors, with her ability to triage medical and social issues, and extensive knowledge of resources in Mercer County and surrounding areas.
Betsy has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut and is a Licensed Social Worker in NJ. Betsy is a member of the Aging Life Care Association and frequents workshops and seminars to stay current in the field. Also a professional artist, Betsy uses her creative flair in working with clients. She is known for playing Black Jack with clients who have enjoyed casinos, (with M&Ms as payouts,) and uses games, interactive books, and art to promote creative and therapeutic engagement. Betsy has a client who has a love of animals and she takes this client to SAVE, a Rescue Shelter, to pet and hug furry creatures, as she applies her professional assessment skills to look for changes and pre-empt additional losses. Betsy’s goal is always to help our clients and their families to navigate through often overwhelming and intimidating health decisions and life transitions.
